Calling all actors, Legacy Project needs you! We’ve been busy developing some great queer stories and now we’re looking for actors from all diverse backgrounds and experience to bring these stories to life on stage. This is your opportunity to play a vital role in performing within our sixth season of exciting, new queer theatre as part of Auckland Pride 2019. As an inclusive queer theatre project, we have a responsibility to produce work that reflects the diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand, and we encourage and support people of all identities and backgrounds to audition to be part of Legacy Project. This includes, but is not limited to: race, culture, gender identity and expression, sex, sexual orientation, age, and disability. Auditions will be held on Saturday 8th December (location TBC) and you’ll receive an audition slot time in advance. For the audition itself, you will need to prepare a short monologue (no longer than 5 minutes) that showcases the kind of roles, either dramatic or comedic, you would like to be considered for. You will be auditioning in front of all six directors each looking to cast their own play - so make sure you show your versatility. LEGACY PROJECT is a theatre development programme created to provide a platform for emerging writers within our queer community to create and share short theatrical works that express our unique Kiwi voices on stage.
